Glittertind varies between the traditional folk metal with punk influences and dark viking metal. The lyrics are based on old norwegian folk songs from the romanticism in Norway. The album has a distinct difference in style from the classic viking and folk metal and the individual listener will have to decide whether this is succesful or not. I really enjoyed listening to this great album, though i usually like it when it is a bit heavier. I might warn those who do not speak norwegian though that some of the meaning will disappear if you do not understand the lyrics as only two of the songs are written in English.
